Day 1 - 311 miles, destination Salem, Massachusetts.
Headed out on the road this morning on the 'official' road trip. The plan was to get here around 2:15PM, settle in, walk around a bit, and then take a Witch Trial tour I had pre-booked for 4:00. Well, the weather had different plans for me and since there was a lot of pouring rain on the drive up I got here around 3:40 instead.

I made it to my tour, but man was the tour was not my thing. So, I nope'd myself out of that tour and walked around a bit on my own and got myself a beer and a lobster roll instead. I've gotta say, this was a far superior decision to wandering around for another 70 minutes in abject pain and annoyance. So, instead of pictures of witchy stuff shown on the tour, here is a pic of my amazing lobster roll...
I've only had a little bit of time in Salem, and I have to head to Portland in the morning, but it seems like a cool town. I can definitely see it being suuuuper cool to be here at Halloween. There are already people here dressed up, I assume that happens all year round and ramps up in October.
