Day 3: 181 miles, destination Scoodic Woods Campground in Acadia National Park
Total miles: 591

I left Portland today and was planning to go straight to Acadia untiiiiil someone reminded me that the L.L. Bean Flagship store is on the way. And there's a giant hiking boot out front.
Am I the kind of person that misses the opportunity to visit a) the flagship store of an iconic brand or 2) miss out on a photo op in front of a giant hiking boot? You bet your ass I'm not.

And if you're a social media whor*ahem*darling like I am, you have *not* missed out on the boat tote craze of this summer. You know every It Girl has their own custom L.L. Bean signature boat tote, and why should FUNCHRIS, the Ittiest of It Girls be any different? She shall not. Slay, qween with your new boat tote. (Just don't let the people know it's currently full of laundry as you left your laundry bag in Philly. Le sigh.)

After my adventures in retail shopping, I got back on the road and headed to the Scoodic Woods Campground in Acadia National Park. I got there just before sunset - much later than I had planned, but c'est la vie. Upon my arrival I was greeted by this friendly woodland creature when I pulled up to my campsite! Look at this darling! After I took approximately 25 photos and 3 videos of her, I decided it was probably a good idea to set up camp - especially since I have never in my life set up a camp before. You heard that right, people: I - have - never - camped - before - in - my - life. Yikes, huh?

But, here I am though! Got my little tent set up, camp mat, sleeping bag, lantern, my one indulgence was my pillow from home. By the time I was all set up and I had my wits about me that I was going to be sleeping outside by myself, the sun had set, so I decided to climb on in and just relax and read a bit. The night went well, no scary noises or beasts. The site was pretty private and quiet, I liked it! The only bummer about my three nights in Acadia is that I was not able to get three nights at the same campsite, so each morning I had to pack up by 10 AM and leave my site. Seeing as I planned this ridiculously last minute, I was lucky to get ANY spot in Acadia, so I'm just thankful I had the experience. Stay tuned for the rest of my Acadia experience in my next post (which will come soon since I'm playing catch up!)
xoxo
